Modern research has to act on social, economical and environmental developments to provide solutions for the existing and upcoming global challenges. To meet this challenge LANE 2012 (November 12-15, 2012, Fuerth, Germany) offers a platform for an international exchange of ideas, opinions, perspectives, results and solutions concerning photonic technologies. Until May 04 we call on the one hand for scientific contributions that will be reviewed and - if accepted - published online on Elsevier´s Physics Procedia and will also be incorporated into Scopus. On the other hand we are looking for industrial contributions that will be evaluated on their relevance for application.
